All of these are older games. We think they show great and unique ways that area control can be used in board games. Plus, they are fun and a little cutthroat.

Area Control games like Risk tend to have a bad rap in our playgroup, but does that make the mechanic problematic? Many players love area control and seek out games like Heroes of Land, Sea, and Air, Twilight Struggle and Scythe.
